I completely agree with what Riley said in the article. We should be respected by our teachers, no matter if we're wearing a slightly low-cut shirt, or high-waisted shorts. If it's something I would be seen around my parents in, I should be able to wear it at school and not hear a teacher make a rude comment. If me wearing a top that shows my shoulders creates a "distracting learning environment" for male students, then like Riley said, maybe the male population in our school needs to learn to control themselves a little better. High school isn't an easy time for anyone, and it's made difficult for women to feel slightly comfortable with themselves. If they've found something that isn't inappropriate and makes them feel better about themselves, they don't need to be called out for it. Getting rid of the school dress code isn't going to cause girls to start showing up in anything less than we all already wear.
